EMBLYSI
Fiscardo’s most popular beach, just 800 m from the village. This lovely white-pebble beach, flanked by large rock slabs, lies in a protected bay lined with olive trees and cypresses. The crystal-clear waters are 3-8 m deep, and the seafloor is mostly sandy. A tarmac road leads down to the beach where there is ample parking. The beach has no facilities.

 

FOKI
This deep cove with a view across to Ithaca is surrounded by a thick forest of cypresses and olive trees, reaching down to the sea.
The beach has no facilities, but there is a cozy taverna nearby.

 

ALATIES
This remote cove on the western coast is named “saltworks”, as sea salt used to be hand-harvested from the hollows in the rocks. The larger hollows were once used for healing baths. This perhaps explains the stepped landscaping of the terrain and the presence of pine trees. The beach is surrounded by rocks, making it a good spot for diving and snorkeling.
The beach has no facilities, but the tranquility of the place and the superb view make it well worth a visit and a swim. You might even consider stopping at the nearby fish taverna, where you can enjoy lunch or, better yet, a memorable night under the stars.

There are several other smaller beaches and coves on both sides of Fiskardo harbour, accessible by boat (motorboat rental available).

 

MYRTOS
18 km south-west of Fiskardo lies Myrtos beach, the island’s landmark. It has consistently been voted one of the world’s top beaches and, year after year, is awarded the European “blue flag” from the Greek National Tourism Organisation.
The contrasts between the white pebbles of the beach and the sea’s innumerable shades of blue under the shifting sunlight, or the dark green of the trees make this place magical. The view of the beach from the road above is breathtaking. And don’t forget: a view of the sunset from here is truly an unforgettable experience.
